Beau as a foster pup.

Our love for dogs goes beyond travel. As pet people we are passionate about the well being & happiness of animals. A large part of DAWGS® mission is to be active members of the dog community, to develop long-term relationships with key charity partners and to create programs that bring real and tangible benefits to the canine population.

Here are pictures of Kathi’s Beau. Beau was one of 11 pups and a mom that the Southern California German Shepherd Rescue saved. Kathi was going to foster him and ended up falling in love with him.

DAWGS® is proud to support the following charitable organizations that help dogs in need and organizations that help relationships between dogs & their humans. We invite you to go to these sites and check them out and consider donating to them

Love on a Leash: A 501(c)(3), incorporated in 1995 as The Foundation for Pet Provided Therapy (“FPPT”), a California public - benefit nonprofit organization. LOAL provides training, evaluation and certification procedures for therapy pets and their owners. They promote the bond between pets and people. Pet therapy pets and their owners visit libraries, day-care centers, senior centers, nursing homes, hospitals and schools to provide emotional support.

Southern California German Shepherd Rescue: A 501(c)(3), nonprofit funded through tax-deductible donations from adopters and individuals who care about the fate of these neglected companion animals. They are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, providing spay/neuter and veterinary care, and re-homing German Shepherds and other pets in Southern California. SCGSR specializes in helping ill and unadoptable abandoned pets regain their health and placing them into caring, loving forever homes. Envisioning a day when companion animals will no longer face inhumane treatment, abandonment or perish in shelters.

Rancho Coastal Humane Society : A a 501(c)(3), that is not tax supported, nor funded by any government agency. One of their main goals is the adoption of animals to permanent, loving homes. RCHS' adoption process is tailored to find the best match between pets and people. More Than Just a Rescue Shelter, adoption isn't all they do! Also run programs such as the Animal Safehouse Program which provides temporary foster care for victims of domestic abuse, as well as the Second Chance Program, which gives pets from other shelters a second chance to be adopted.

Both Bella & Bubba in the past participated in the Love on the Leash (LOAL) program through the Rancho Coastal Humane Society.   Kathi and Bella were LOAL team leaders for visits to AEGIS (an assisted living home) for 9 years in addition to visiting shelters for abused women and their children and particpating in the Read for Wags program. In 2005, Christie was the founding chairperson for Cardiff Dog Days of Summer feastival. The feastival has grown in the last 10 years from 20 boths to over 250 booths. For the first 3 years while Christie was Chair a portions of all profits was donated to Rancho Coastal Humane Society.
